The City’s New Social Sanctuary: METT Singapore Arrives at Fort Canning

Singapore’s newest hotel opening isn’t just another glossy high-rise — it’s a retreat in the treetops. Opening October 28, METT Singapore lands within the lush historic grounds of Fort Canning Park, offering a fresh lifestyle-driven approach to hospitality that’s as grounded in wellness as it is elevated in style.

This marks Sunset Hospitality Group’s Asia-Pacific flagship, joining the brand’s growing portfolio in Marbella, Bodrum, and Barcelona — but the Singapore debut stands apart, with just 84 rooms, serious culinary firepower, and a refined energy that speaks to the city’s creative pulse.

METT Singapore

A New Chapter for a Storied Site

Originally built in 1926, the colonial-era landmark has been respectfully reimagined by designer Jeffrey Wilkes, who’s infused light, natural materials and clean-lined elegance into every space. Suites are spacious, ceilings are high, and the outlook — whether over tropical parkland or the skyline beyond — is all serenity.

At 1,725 square feet, the Fort Canning Suite is the crown jewel, but all rooms deliver a sense of air, flow and effortless luxury.

Gastronomy That Gathers

Dining takes center stage, led by Chef Daniele Sperindio, who serves as Director of Culinary and F&B. The first of four venues to open will be L’Amo Bistrò del Mare, offering refined coastal Italian, along with the inviting Canning Bar & Lounge. Later, Sperindio will relocate his Michelin-starred Art di Daniele Sperindio to the property, followed by HANU, a vibrant reimagining of the Korean grill experience.

Each space is designed with connection in mind — culinary destinations that feel as alive and layered as the landscape that surrounds them.

METT Singapore

Designed for Living Well

Wellness here is far more than a spa menu. There are two outdoor pools, padel and pickleball courts, a sleek gym with Technogym equipment, and boutique classes in Pilates, aerial yoga, HIIT, and Barrecore. It’s a playground for those who want movement, balance, and a bit of buzz — all in one place.

And when Madison House, the brand’s private members’ club, launches in late 2025, it will bring with it The Longevity Suite, a leading European wellness brand making its regional debut. Think: cryotherapy, biohacking, science-backed rejuvenation, and bespoke health retreats set to launch in early 2026.

The METT Philosophy

“METT Singapore is for the modern traveler who wants everything at their fingertips — health and wellness, social connection and good times with the city and nature at their doorstep. We are creating more than a hotel, we’re offering a state of mind – a destination where dining, wellness, and culture come alive in the heart of one of Asia’s most dynamic cities,” says Marcel Li, General Manager, METT Singapore.

It’s a bold and timely entry — one that positions METT Singapore as not just a place to stay, but a place to live, gather, and return to.

METT Singapore opens in phases from October 28. Rates start at SGD 625. To mark its opening, METT Singapore presents “Singapore, We Finally METT,” an exclusive two-night package starting from SGD 998++. Guests will enjoy daily breakfast, a sidecar tour, Battlebox tickets, cocktails, welcome amenities, and an exclusive farewell gift, with one-way limousine transfers for Premier Suites. Book by Nov. 30, 2025 for stays from Nov. 1, 2025 to Jan. 31, 2026 (Blackout: Dec. 29, 2025 – Jan. 1, 2026).

You don't stay at the Sofitel Legend Metropole for You don't stay at the Sofitel Legend Metropole for the check-in experience—you stay because 1901 wrote better architecture than most cities can build today. Ten years after Graham Greene walked these halls, and they haven't missed a beat. The Opera House steps, the wartime tunnels underfoot, the Angelina salon where cocktails taste like history—they're all part of a legacy that doesn't need to shout to be heard. Three hours from Hanoi. Seven hectares on the edge Three hours from Hanoi. Seven hectares on the edge of Ha Long Bay. Two buildings designed like traditional fishing vessels. One rooftop dinner that pairs Kagoshima Wagyu with Nuits-Saint-Georges. The math checks out. What makes this property exceptional isn't the awards or the price points—it's the willingness to let simple things (poolside pizza, afternoon tea with a limestone backdrop, quiet mornings at the Club Lounge) carry as much weight as the five-course tasting menus. Sometimes luxury is knowing when not to try too hard. Read @janoahvankekem ´s full review of @intercontinental_halongbay for @luxnomade on the website.
