October’s Most Stylish Hotel Openings: Heritage, Wellness, and High Design Around the World

October has emerged as one of the year’s most compelling months for hotel openings — not because of sheer volume, but thanks to a handful of standout properties that are rewriting the rules of modern luxury. From a historic hilltop in Barcelona to a lush park in the heart of Singapore, these new hotels put as much emphasis on wellness and atmosphere as they do on aesthetics.

Whether you’re drawn to Mediterranean coastal elegance, crisp Viennese glamour, or a wellness retreat under a tropical canopy, these are the hotel openings making October one to remember — and revisit.

METT Singapore, Fort Canning Park

Sunset Hospitality Group makes its Asia-Pacific debut with METT Singapore, a lifestyle-focused hotel set in the leafy surrounds of Fort Canning Park. The 84-room heritage property blends colonial charm with contemporary design, standout dining by Chef Daniele Sperindio, and a robust wellness offering — including padel courts, Pilates, and a private members’ club featuring Europe’s Longevity Suite. A refined, soulful escape in the heart of the city.

The Standard, Pattaya Na Jomtien, Thailand

The Standard is making a splash with its very first beach club, right on the shores of Pattaya Na Jomtien. Known for its mix of laid-back luxury and bold design, this new spot brings all the signature Standard charm, plus a little extra coastal cool.

Inside, you’ll find 161 rooms and suites—everything from sleek Standard Kings to ocean-view Deluxe suites with private pools, and even a jaw-dropping 322-square-meter penthouse. The design is a fresh take on modernist architecture, with playful curves softening the brutalist edges. Created with DIN Studio, Studio Lupine, and the brand’s in-house team, it’s a space that feels both bold and welcoming—a perfect backdrop for kicking back by the beach.

Uga, the celebrated Sri Lankan boutique hotel group, has just unveiled its seventh property, Uga Prāva—a serene sanctuary boasting just seven exclusive ocean-facing suites. Inspired by the Sanskrit word for coral, Prāva captures the hotel’s essence: a seamless blend of minimalist luxury and deep reverence for nature.

Sometimes luxury shows up quietly, without fanfare Sometimes luxury shows up quietly, without fanfare or a grand lobby to announce its presence. That is exactly how Finca Victoria arrived in Sa Riera—a restored estate where the pine-covered hills and Mediterranean set the tone before you even step inside.

Opened in 2025 after careful renovation of a historic property, it captures something rare on the Costa Brava: the feeling of having discovered a corner that hasn't yet lost its soul. Just thirty-eight rooms, all adults over fourteen, spread across what feels more like a private summer house than a resort determined to impress from the first moment. The central cloister anchors everything, with warm stone arches, ceramics, and Catalan tuff flooring that gives you a sense of place without leaning too hard on nostalgia.

The food alone tells you this was done with intention. AlKostat del Mar, led by chef Jordi Vilà, serves seasonal Catalan cooking rooted in local produce and fire. A rice dish can become the reason you're traveling somewhere new. Breakfast stretches from eight until eleven with made-to-order hot options alongside a carefully edited buffet—eggs Benedict with salmon, avocado toast, regional specialties like black butifarra with beans—that makes rushing feel unnecessary.

But what lingers is the room itself. In our Terrace Suite, nearly sixty square metres overlooked both sea and the rolling hills of Begur. The bathroom held both bathtub and rainfall shower. An outdoor shower faced sideways toward the horizon. These details don't shout; they settle into your memory slowly.

Spa appointments run through the Victoria Wellness Spa with water circuits, saunas, jacuzzis, and sensory treatments—all requiring advance booking, which somehow makes the peace even sweeter when you arrive. Morning yoga happens inside one of the suites, sunlight filling the space as you ground yourself into the day rather than race through it.

There is a complimentary shuttle to Begur village until late evening, and the beach is literally a short walk away. Private boat trips can be arranged for up to six people. Paddleboards, loungers, anything on the water the hotel can help coordinate through external partners. Yet even with
