This stylish four-star hotel located only ten minutes from Oxford Street offers a ’boutique-styled’ tranquil haven away from the busy shopping streets. With stylish rooms, a quintessential British bar and restaurant coupled with great customer service make The Mandeville Hotel a great place to stay when in London.
Located in a grand Victorian building on a quiet back street only ten minutes from busy Oxford Street and a short walk to Bond Street and Marble Arch tube stations, you’ll find this four-star boutique hotel.
The character of the hotel is colourful and playful mixing and matching different styles. The lobby area features armchairs with bold patterns, chandeliers and marble flooring creating a stylish feel.
The Food
Reform Social and Grill located on the ground floor offers an authentic British dining experience with its all-day menu including breakfast, brunch and afternoon tea. The comfortable and luxurious leather chairs and Chesterfield sofas are perfect to sink into whilst enjoying a drink with nibbles.
The breakfast is served in the restaurant from 7 am and includes a traditional buffet of pastries, fruits, yoghurt and bread. For hot breakfast options, guests can have their eggs mixed with any sides such as mushrooms, tomatoes and baked beans.
The coffee is great and the staff is friendly and attentive.
The Superior Double
There are 138 rooms in total across eight categories, ranging from single rooms to a terrace suite.
The Superior Double room I am staying in is spacious and located on the second floor featuring stylish wall art and two large street-facing windows letting in light but not too much noise.
The bed is comfortable with crisp white linen and chic mirror detailing across the headboard and bedside tables adding a stylish feel to the room.
A pleasant surprise is the Nespresso machine which comes with three coffee capsules as well as the large wall-mounted 32” Samsung HD TV which is great to watch from the bed.
The room is also equipped with a ‘Handy’ – a smartphone guests can use in and outside the hotel enabling them to make local and international phone calls as well as using the internet. This is a perfect (and handy, as the name suggests) gadget when discovering a new city. Maps are easily accessed as well as local guides to museums, entertainment and various events.
The marble bathroom is spacious with a large power shower as well as a bathtub on each side of the vanity sink. The slippers and the toiletries from C.O. Bigelow Apothecaries adds to the ’boutique-feel’ and the overall positive experience.
This hotel is a great choice for business as well as leisure travellers looking to stay in a central location with close proximity to everything London has to offer.
