SUITCASE SERIES: Katie Eales Co-Founder Of Skincare Brand Sabbia Co
In this week’s Suitcase Series we are diving into the travel psyche of Katie Eales, Co-Founder of the Australian skincare brand Sabbio Co.
Sabbia Co was born after Burleigh Heads Founders Katie and Dave found themselves on a remote beach in Sri Lanka and devastated over the amount of single-use personal items they were surrounded by.
Katie has a huge passion for skin health and well-being, while Dave is a surfer dude and green thumb. They both do their bit in their home to reduce their footprint but wanted to do more. And that’s why they launched Sabbia Co in September 2019.
An ethical brand with minimal impact on the environment, that creates unique facial kits out of sustainable, biodegradable, reusable and chemical-free tools. These kits cleanse, exfoliate and remove makeup with just WATER!
Eco-friendly, minimalistic, ethical, low-waste and doing a whole lot of good for your face and planet Earth, Sabbia Co is saving our oceans one makeup wipe at a time. Sabbia Co’s range of unique, chemical-free facial kits, masks, oils and reusable, biodegradable tools which cleanse, exfoliate and nourish your skin, and remove makeup with just water.
In this week’s Suitcase Series, equipped with Sabbia Co’s best-selling product – Antioxidant Repair Oil we caught up with Katie to dive into her suitcase and travel psyche…
What’s been your most memorable trip and why?
I would have to go with Hamilton Island for our Honeymoon in October 2021, it was our first holiday in a while due to COVID lockdowns and such a special period of our lives to relax and reflect on how far we have come as individuals as well as becoming Husband and Wife. We are also both extremely passionate about the reef/planet so it was really special to fly over the ‘love heart’ reef and have a private dive.
What’s your favourite ever hotel?
I’m more of a camping girl than hotels, but I would love to visit Uluru and stay at https://longitude131.com.au/
Where or what is your escape?
I love exploring and camping along the East Coast, our favourite spots would be Minnie Waters or Yamba.
If you could go anywhere tomorrow it would be…
I’m dying to go back to Italy and visit my family in Sondrio.
What’s your idea of a luxury wellness holiday?
I would love to visit Tahiti. Dave would surf his heart out at Teahupoo and it would allow me to indulge in lots of yoga, diving and dreaming under palm trees.
My top bucket-list destination is…
Tahiti or any tropical getaway with surf and diving.
If you could sit next to anyone – dead or alive – on a long-haul flight, who would it be?
David Attenborough, I would love to listen to all of his favourite destinations and animals.
What is your jet-lag recovery tip?
A dip in the ocean and indulging in skincare.
What is your suitcase stalwart?
We always travel with surfboard board bags and backpacks.
What is your number one packing tip?
Roll don’t fold, saves on ironing and seems to fit a lot more in. I also have lots of little drawstring bags to keep bikinis, underwear, skincare etc separate.
I never travel without…
My skincare, my go-to is our Face It Face Kit because I can remove makeup/zinc, cleanse and exfoliate with water no matter where I am.
In my beauty/toiletry bag I always bring…
Toothbrush, Face it Face Kit, Collagen C Serum and Sunscreen.
