In this week’s Suitcase Series, we take a sneak peek into Laura’s travel psyche…
What’s been your most memorable trip and why?
It would have to be my honeymoon. After a week of wedding celebrations with friends and family in a villa in Tuscany, we drove around Italy in a little Fiat 500 for three weeks, exploring the Amalfi coast, Puglia and Matera. It was a once in a lifetime experience, knowing our future was ahead of us.
What’s your favourite ever hotel?
That’s almost impossible to answer because there are just too many to choose from, but I always love a stay in The Rosewood in London. The elegance of the architecture and attention to detail is sublime. As a family, we’ve gone to Greece most years, and although not the most spectacular hotel ever visited, Eagles Resort is the only one I’ve gone back to again. It has everything that a 5* family hotel needs, but still lots of Greek charm.
Where or what is your escape?
I have an annual girls holiday with my two best friends to Formentera in Spain. We’ve been going since school and it’s such a special nostalgic place for us. The trip is a lifeline for us all to reset and remember who we are away from being business owners and mothers. The new Teranka hotel is heavenly (as are the cocktails…!)
If you could go anywhere tomorrow it would be…
I always love a city break, so New York first comes to mind. It’s where Aaron, my husband, and I got engaged so it holds a very special place in our hearts. We’ve also done a project there, so we love to catch up with our clients when we visit.
What’s your idea of a luxury wellness holiday?
I’m in the thick of parenthood and family holidays with a 9 and 12-year-old, so a wellness holiday feels like a pipe dream! But Aaron and I look forward to being able to take holidays like this one day – something that is a good balance of total relaxation (and sleep!) mixed with just enough detoxing to feel some benefits. Somewhere picturesque in Scandinavia would do nicely!
My top bucket-list destination is…
Tokyo. I’ve always wanted to go and we’re just waiting for our youngest to be a little older to really enjoy it.
If you could sit next to anyone – dead or alive – on a long-haul flight, who would it be?
Today, I would say Anya Hindmarch. I’ve just finished her memoir and I am so inspired by her approach to business and motherhood.

What is your jet-lag recovery tip?
A bath and a long massage.
What is your suitcase stalwart?
I love our Rimowa cases in Matt Black.
What is your number one packing tip?
I’m constantly doing short overnight trips to London for work so I always have a pre-packed washbag and essentials like chargers ready to grab. I love packing cubes to keep things tidy and easy to unpack too.
I never travel without…
My GHD’s! I’m lost without them
In my beauty / toiletry bag I always bring…
SPF 50. I wish I’d known its power in my twenties.
