The Ivy Bath Brasserie adds glamour to the West Country and certainly lives up to the hype and is very much like the London Mother Ship.
The Ivy Grills and Brasseries, for those not familiar with the brand, consists of a number of Grill and Brasseries across London and beyond. The Ivy Bath Brasserie opened its doors back in 2017 and similar to its sister restaurants the Bath Brasserie offers an all-day menu consisting of a mouthwatering selection of British dishes.
Located in Nat West Bank’s old building on Milsom Street in central Bath, the four storey restaurant is grand, elegant and sophisticated with a splash of art deco and fun. With high ceilings, modern art, colourful tiles and plush sofas and marble tables, The Ivy in Bath is ever so sophisticated yet with friendly staff and non-stuffy food the atmosphere is casual and chic.
Serving lunch, dinner and Afternoon Tea in between, the restaurant is a non-stopping beating heart pumping out ridiculously tasty dishes like the Brioche-crumbed chicken breast with San Marzano Tomatoes and pesto and smoked salmon and haddock fish cakes.
The cocktails don’t disappoint either with Lansdown Lady being one of the favourites among guests and staff alike and the Holborn Botanical Collins is perfectly refreshing. Apart from an impressive cocktail list, there is, of course, an equally impressive wine list to pair the starters and main courses with. The Spanish Damana 5, for example, is bold and intense and a perfect red wine to enjoy with the chicken and meat dishes.
In addition to the elegant and flavoursome dishes and drinks, the service is upbeat and fun. Expect to crack jokes with the well-dressed staff whilst being swept away in the entertaining atmosphere taking place in the impressively decorated dining area.
Whether you are ducking into The Ivy which is one of Bath’s finest eateries for lunch or dinner expect to be seduced by the interior design, the great menu and the overall experience which will leave you feeling pure bliss!
