Equipped with Biologi’s popular Bf restore serum, we delve into Lucy Macdougald’s travel psyche…
What’s been your most memorable trip and why?
In August 2019 (feels like forever ago) my husband and I went to Queenstown NZ when it was snowing. We went on a scenic flight up the mountains, then went on ski-doo snowmobiles across the snow covered range – it was an unreal experience. The mix of going fast across the snow combined with the scenery (and the helicopter flight) made for an unforgettable holiday. The entire trip was so memorable and after the last couple of years, it certainly stands out in my mind as truly special.
What’s your favourite ever hotel?
Can I choose two?! Qualia at Hamilton Island in Australia during the summer and Eichardts Private Hotel in Queenstown NZ for the winter – both are incredible but for different reasons (and seasons)! I always feel extremely grateful to be able to experience that kind of service and luxury in the most perfect surroundings.
Where or what is your escape?
Reading a good book in the sun at a beautiful beach anywhere in the world is the perfect escape! Sometimes it only needs to be the beach down the road from where I live and it feels like a getaway.
If you could go anywhere tomorrow it would be…
New Zealand!! I’m from New Zealand originally so I cannot wait to go home. It’s been 9 months and I miss my friends and family. The great news is though that New Zealand have have just announced that Kiwis can go home from the end of Feb without hotel quarantine so I’ve already got a visit booked!
What’s your idea of a luxury wellness holiday?
That would have to be a visit to Aro-Ha Wellness retreats down in the South Island of New Zealand. It’s self-described as a next-level wellness experience, offering life shifting, body morphing, spirit lifting retreats – what more could you want!
My top bucket-list destination is…
Maldives! It looks like heaven on earth and I can’t wait to experience it one day.
If you could sit next to anyone – dead or alive – on a long-haul flight, who would it be?
Marilyn Monroe. I think she would have some amazing stories to tell and I’d love to know the truth about her life.
What is your jet-lag recovery tip?
Always, always, always make sure you have a rest when you land so the jet lag doesn’t drag out! A great thing to do is to also cleanse, exfoliate and face mask as soon as you get to your hotel. This little bit of self-care can make you feel so much better.
What is your suitcase stalwart?
My favourite bag is my Dior + Rimowa collab suitcase. It’s so deep and I love how durable all of the Rimowa bags are. My second choice is my Louis Vuitton Horizon 70 suitcase. They are such classic bags and I love travelling with it.
What is your number one packing tip?
Remembering that sometimes less is best! It’s always such a struggle wanting to take all your favourite clothes, but sometimes taking a few versatile items is better. For example a swimsuit that doubles as a top under jeans, or a sarong that can be turned into a top. These kinds of items can help to minimise what you take and leave room for the must-haves!
I never travel without…
A 20ml bottle of Biologi’s 20ml Bf Restore serum. It fixes everything and anything, from dry skin or hair through to being a brilliant after-sun lotion. It’s a hydrating bottle of goodness that nourishes and protects skin (and is also ideal for anyone with sensitive, dry and irritated skin).
In my beauty / toiletry bag I always bring…
Biologi, Bare Minerals Make up, Virtue haircare. Again, I try to keep it simple but sometimes that’s easier said than done!
