Suitcase Series: Kowsh Rawson, founder of Kiko Design, one of Sydney’s leading floral studios
Kowsh Rawson is the founder and creative director of Kiko Design, one of Sydney’s leading floral studios. Having left a career in marketing to pursue her natural obsession for design, Kowsh and her Husband Josh have built a brand today that is globally recognised and has seen the duo travel across the globe this past season to bring floral concepts to life. This studio-based florist creates inspiring floral works for weddings, events, campaigns, and gifting with a strong passion for the art itself.
Nowadays, Kowsh juggles the joys of being a new mother, flowering for KikoDesign, and managing the launch of her second business, Alokaia, a range of hand-poured structural candles that are making their way onto the shelves and homes of homewares lovers across the country. Her hope in creating these brands is to provide a small insight into the life that she and Josh have been able to create with nothing more than hard work, determination, and two hearts filled with so much hope to reach for dreams that were way beyond their reach.
In this week’s Suitcase Series, equipped with the Alokaia Flume candle $49.95 we take a sneak peek into Kowsh’s travel psyche…
What’s been your most memorable trip, and why?
Two weeks we spent our honeymoon driving through morocco. I remember this trip so vividly, from nights spent in the middle of the desert to waking up in the most picturesque little riads and spending endless days exploring the windy little alleyways of the medina; it all feels like a dream.
What’s your favourite ever hotel?
alila villas uluwatu, heaven on earth!
Where or what is your escape?
Quiet Sundays at home with nothing on the schedule but a lazy dog walk.
If you could go anywhere tomorrow, it would be…
A small island somewhere in the Maldives
What’s your idea of a luxury wellness holiday?
To be deeply nestled amongst treetops somewhere very tropical. Walking trails, rich cuisine, stylish interiors, and rattan handbags.
My top bucket-list destination is…
…Italy has so much to offer! The food, the cities, the architecture, and the drama!
If you could sit next to anyone – dead or alive – on a long-haul flight, who would it be?
My Grandma.
What is your jet-lag recovery tip?
When possible, A night flight back to Sydney, an active day, and an early night, helps me to reset the body clock.
What is your suitcase stalwart?
A high-quality hard-case Samsonite suitcase has never led me astray.
What is your number one packing tip?
Overpack, it’s always good to have options. To be far from home and not have easy access to items that will give you maximum comfort during your stay is not my ideal.
I never travel without…
…my DSLR, I love photographing and documenting our trips.
In my beauty/toiletry bag I always bring…
… Red Lipstick, because you never know.
