Have you ever pictured yourself dining in a wine cellar surrounded by some of the world’s most exceptional, rare wines?
While people think of Napa Valley and Bordeaux for incredible wine experiences – these unexpected locations can turn this fantasy into a reality, from a luxury inn in Texas, to a castle in the southwest of Ireland. We’ve listed four of the world’s leading luxury hotels that offer such an experience.
Adare Manor | County Limerick, Ireland
An unlikely wine destination, Adare Manor in Northwest Ireland is home to an extensive collection of more than 700 different hand-selected wines including champagne, reds, white, fortified and sake from some of the world’s most legendary vineyards. For a one-of-a-kind experience, wine connoisseurs can dine in the original wine cellar located in the old manor house. The team of five sommelier’s are happy to pair guests’ meals with a selection of wines from producers like Roumier, Petrus, Rousseau and Cristal. Some of the oldest bottles in the cellar include Lynch Bages 1945, Colares 1934 and Chateau y’Quem 1961 – extremely rare and exclusive. Adare Manor has recently undergone one of the biggest renovations of its kind in Ireland, debuting a La Mer Spa, Tom Fazio-designed golf course and Michelin star-inspiring restaurants in November 2017.
The Stafford London | London, UK

Today, Master Sommelier, Gino Nardella, hosts wine tastings and wine-pairing dinners throughout the year. With over 40 years of experience at The Stafford alone, there isn’t a bottle he hasn’t tried in the Wine Cellar which rests beneath the hotel.

The all-inclusive Relais & Châteaux property houses an impressive 15,000 bottle wine cellar, with some of the rarest wines in the world on the property’s Reserve Wine List. The wine cellar is an impressive backdrop for an intimate private dining experience (for up to eight guests). Acclaimed Executive Chef Nathan Rich and Sommelier Keven Ring will create a fully customized and seasonal multi-course dining extravaganza in the heart of the cellar.
