‘Tread lightly’ is the philosophy that voco launched with a year ago, and it’s sticking right by it with a new paperless initiative.
The brand that turned recycled plastic bottles into high-quality bedding revealed this week that it will remove all paperwork from its check-out experience in order to do good for the environment.
Rolling out initially at voco Kirkton Park Hunter Valley and voco Gold Coast, the new set up will see receipts, invoices and IHG Reward Club points updates sent directly to guests via email.
Additionally, voco Kirkton Park has introduced PRESSHUB, a newspaper and magazine app that allows visitors to consume news and entertainment content digitally.

The sustainable hotel brand now has six properties open worldwide and 14 more in the pipeline.
A highlight at each of its hotels is the bedding, which is made from 100 percent recycled material, including plastic bottles.
Bed linen in each suite is produced from sustainable cotton harvesting, while aerated showerheads are installed in bathrooms to limit water usage, and large-format amenities reduce plastic waste.
Over the last 12 months, the brand also unveiled a ‘Trees for Bees’ program at voco Kirkton Park whereby a tree is planted after every event and meeting to support local biodiversity.
The Hunter Valley-based property is also home to voco’s interactive vegetable garden, which is where currently 60 percent of all on-site restaurant food is produced.
