Motel Mexicola dishes up a tasty and colourful fiesta you don’t want to miss out on.
No trip to Bali is complete without a visit to the famous Motel Mexicola. Expect to find yourself sit-dancing to ‘La Macarena’whilst tucking into fish tacos and margaritas. Whether you were planning a quiet dinner or not, this place will rock your socks off before your second cocktail.
Entering Motel Mexicola will transport you to Mexico in a heartbeat. The colourful decor, the tiles, furniture, and ambiance is fun, hot and festive. This is not a place for a quiet night, this is where you will enjoy food, music, drinks and a sweaty dancefloor (there’s no air-con which adds to the vibe).
Spread across two floors Motel Mexicola offers a range of different seating options. The large bar area has comfortable seats for those who prefer to dine close to the margaritas with a great view over the dance floor. The cosy corners are perfect for couples and groups of friends however they are filling up quickly so a reservation is a must.
The food isn’t your average TexMex. Forget soggy chips and beans from a can, at Motel Mexicola all dishes are freshly prepared using local ingredients. The Salsa Verde placed on every table is for example prepared daily and is totally delicious. Start off with nachos and home-made guacamole, tomato salsa and sweet corn and leave some room for the killer fish tacos (which you make it yourself on the table) which are divine. The empanadas served with a sweet sauce is excellent and so are the little tasty tostadas. If you’re not a tequila person there’s plenty more on the drinks menu than Margaritas. For dessert, the churros served with both caramel and chocolate are crispy on the outside and perfectly doughy on the inside.
Motel Mexicola is perfect if you are after delicious and fresh Mexican food and a wild boogie (yes expect table dancing and free-poured shots). Arriba!
