Seminyak Restaurant Guide: where to get the best bites in Bali’s stylish Seminyak.
Bali bound? Seminyak is not short of restaurants and excellent ones as well. Whether you are keen to try Indonesian fine-dining, tasty Mexican food, delicious and modern Italian cuisine or Asian-fusion cooking, this is Lux Nomade’s Seminyak Restaurant Guide.
DA MARIA
Da Maria is a modern Italian restaurant in the Osteria style featuring stunning interiors by Roman architects Lazzarini Pickering. The popular Italian restaurant highlights the diversity of Italian food, wine, music, fashion, art, and friends. Expect great music, tasty food and delicious cocktails all served up in an ‘Amalfi coast – feel’ setting.
FLAT STANLEY
Flat Stanley brings American food lovers to sunny California and the West Coast. The trendy restaurant specialises in hand-pulled sourdough pizzas topped with local Balinese produce for the freshest flavours. Tuck into a selection of sharing boards, small plates, vegetables, salads and sourdough flatbread pizzas in the cool and funky vintage-designed restaurant.
MAMA SAN
Think colonial Britain in Shanghai during the 1920s. Dark and seductive interior design with marble top mah-jong tables and oversized tan leather chesterfields, this industrial high ceiling warehouse is one of the hippest restaurants in Seminyak. The Indonesian dishes such as caramelised beef and prawn curry are delicious which are paired with an extensive Australian wine list.
SARONG
Sarong Bali remains one of Seminyak’s best restaurants, with timeless Indonesian cooking by the talented street food chef Will Meyrick. The fine-dining restaurant believes that ecologically friendly farming results in better tasting food hence supporting local farmers in rural communities. The delicious food is served in a beautiful setting creating a memorable dining experience.
MOTEL MEXICOLA
No Seminyak trip is complete without a visit to the fun, colourful and ever so popular Motel Mexicola. The festive atmosphere is contagious and expect yourself end up sit-dancing at the table to classic disco tunes whilst enjoying fish tacos, homemade salsa verde and delicious margaritas. Arriba!
KAUM
Following the launch of KAUM at Potato Head Hong Kong, PTT Family, the Indonesia-based hospitality and lifestyle group behind the Potato Head brand, opened their second outpost of KAUM at Potato Head Beach Club in Bali in 2016. The restaurant, located on the first floor, is relaxed and airy yet sophisticated and is overlooking Potato Head Beach Club. The long wooden dining table, made from high quality, locally sourced teak from East Java, encourages the family-style dining which is common among Indonesia’s tribal communities.
