How to make the perfect cup of coffee at home
With many of us currently working from home, the daily morning routine, including grabbing our usual takeaway coffee from our favourite cafe down the road, has been replace with many of us trying to recreate something similar at home (with mixed results). So, how can we avoid any potential pitfalls and what should we look for when put our barista hats on? Firstly, we need coffee beans. Many people would argue that fresh coffee beans which are being grinded at home (by yourself) is the ultimate taste sensation. However, we found that ground coffee can be just as flavoursome. Once thing to keep in mind though, is to keep your beans or ground coffee in an airtight container at room temperature, and out of direct sunlight.
And luckily, whether you use an espresso machine, a plunger or grinder, there are coffee beans for all tools and taste preferences. Grounded coffee or fresh coffee beans, lightly roasted or strong and aromatic, fruity or earthy, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite coffee brands rithg now. Sometimes it’s trial and error to find your perfect blend, but when you do, your home-made cuppa will taste just as heavenly as your favourite takeaway coffee from down the road. There are also various ingredients to add to enchance the benefit of your coffee.
And lastly, enjoying your homemade brew in a beautiful cup makes the experience so much more special. Ceramic coffee cups are great to keep the coffee hotter for longer without making the outside unbearable to hold while you drink your coffee.
