Housed in the Grade II-listed former St Olave’s Grammar School, LaLiT offers a complete luxury hotel experience. Junior Classroom
Housed in former classrooms, the rooms are charmingly still referred to as classrooms and all have character and mix classic and contemporary style. The Junior Classroom has a Queen Bed, complimentary Nespresso coffee, marble bathroom with a walk-in shower and free Wi-Fi. The desk in the room adds to the grammar school feel.
Food & Drinks
A perfect starting point for the evening is the beautiful cocktail bar in the Teacher’s Room. Select from an impressive cocktail menu where classics have been given a fun twist like the ‘Sbagliato At The Great Hall’ – a classic Negroni with the Gin being replaced with Champagne.
The dinner is served, in perhaps, the highlight of the hotel – the majestic peacock blue assembly hall which has been transformed into pan-Indian restaurant Baluchi. Despite the grand and formal room, the ambience is warm and relaxed. The tables are spread across the sides of the room as well as in the middle and the comfortable large chairs tougher with the cool lounge music in the background makes this the perfect place to enjoy a long dinner with a date, family or colleagues.
The menu which has been developed by Executive Chef Santosh Shah and consists of traditional Indian and Pakistan dishes mixed with a modern take on the classics. Expect one of the best naan bread in the capital together with incredible chicken kormas, tandoori lobster and cannon of lamb.
After dinner, enjoy a cognac in the room next door, the Headmaster’s Room. Sink into the plush armchairs in front of the fireplace surrounded by dark wooden panels and absorb the cosy atmosphere whilst digestive the delicious food.
