Anti-Gravity Rose Quartz Massage at Kempinski Hotel Bahia, Estepona, Spain
Kempinski Hotel Bahia, a luxury property near the palm tree-lined promenade of Estepona, is the only wellness destination in Spain to offer the Rose Quartz Bed Massage. The healing warmth of the sand bed, which contains thousands of tiny, pink-tinted rose quartz, is developed from the ancient Greek concept of ‘psammotherapy’, and uses gently heated sand to relax the body, alleviate pain and ease away muscular tension.
During the massage, a warmed, cotton poultice of the same sandy crystals is periodically passed along the body, targeting tight spots and acting as an extension of the therapists’ hands. As the bed is gently tilted upwards and downwards during the treatment, the crystals stay completely still, giving a feeling of ‘anti-gravity’ and total weightlessness.
Kempinski Hotel Bahia sits on its own sliver of Mediterranean, with private gardens of olive, lemon and avocado trees (used within the restaurants and spa treatments), newly launched El Paseo Del Mar – a dining destination comprised of three design-led restaurants and bars – luxurious rooms and suites, and fitness centre. Located 25-minutes east of Marbella, Kempinski Hotel Bahia, and the nearby town of Estepona, provide a welcome alternative to the bustling clubs and busy beaches.
About the Spa:
The Kempinski Spa, set within the manicured lawns of Kempinski Hotel Bahia, Estepona, offers an extensive range of restorative therapies from six, luxury treatment rooms, including an ‘Aqua Suite’ with in-room jacuzzi bath and double treatment beds. Citrus fruits and herbs grown within the hotel grounds are used in treatments, as well as Natura Bisse products. The spa also plays home to a Bastien Gonzalez Studio, and a new Rose Quartz Bed – the only wellness destination in Spa to offer this innovative, Rose Quartz ‘Anti-Gravity’ Massage.
