Zero Real Estate: Sleep alfresco under the stars in pop-up hotel rooms in Switzerland.
Ever dreamed of being brought back to nature by sleeping under the stars in luxury? Under the brand Zero Real Estate, seven new hotel suites without walls or roof will open on July 1 making that dream possible.
Zero Real Estate Brings You Back to Nature
Switzerland‘s landscape will become the wallpaper of rooms without walls or roofs in the tourist destinations of St.Gallen-Lake Constance, Toggenburg, Heidiland, Appenzellerland AR, Thurgau, Schaffhauserland and the Principality of Liechtenstein. Guests will be able to sleep alfresco under the stars enjoying the breathtaking nature and a unique ‘Modern Butler’ service.
Under The Stars – The Perfect Escape From Covid-19
The Zero Real Estate hotel suites without walls or roof fit the current requirement of today’s traveller regarding sanitary and safety measures. “This year more than ever, we have seen that guests are looking for tucked away locations. All the Zero Real Estate hotel suites offer tailored service in an undisturbed environment with meticulous attention to hygiene”, says hotel professional Daniel Charbonnier. Additionally, the need for fresh air, nature and space is particularly great following the confinement period. You can expect the seven new hotel suites to be among the best-ventilated hotel rooms in the world, say the artists Frank and Patrik Riklin.
The Modern Butler – bow tie, charm and fantasy
The Modern Butler embodies the essence of Zero Real Estate spirit: people taking care of people. The Modern Butler was born by merging the classic hospitality world as reflected by the white gloves, black bow tie and white shirt and the artistic world which provides the freedom to be unconventional and creative while fulfilling the main duties of focusing on the guest, the only star. This key role is taken by members of the local community who have undertaken a unique and demanding training such as practising carrying trays on steep slopes, making beds in windy weather and jumping over water streams. They are at the guest’s service which includes the welcome, escorting them to their suite, offering a welcome drink featuring the local flavours of the region as well as serving breakfast. In case of bad weather, alternative accommodation can include a hotel room, an alpine hut or an old farmhouse, to name but a few. Imagination is the butler’s best friend, say the Riklin brothers. The strict dress code consists of a white shirt, black bow tie and white gloves. However, below the belt, the clothing is individual – whether it’s peasant trousers with rubber boots, business trousers with patent leather shoes or skirts with high-heels. This unusual visual recognition effect is part of the artistic concept, says Thomas Kirchhofer, Director St.Gallen-Lake Constance Tourism. The Modern Butler embodies the claim of a host culture that is charming, witty and authentic.
How to book?
Given the overwhelming popularity of the brand as reflected by over 9,000 guests on the waiting list, the concept is being copied at home and abroad – without copyrights or prior consultation with the art creators.
