Conrad Corfu Brings a New Kind of Calm to the Ionian, Opening 2026
The south of Corfu has long been the island’s quiet corner—olive groves, hidden beaches, fishing harbours where time still moves on island rhythm. In 2026, it’s about to get a new neighbour with a polished kind of poise: Conrad Corfu, a 136-room resort from Hilton’s Conrad brand, managed by Numo Hotels & Resorts.
Set to open on a 200-metre stretch of sand near Molos, the property promises a design-led approach to Ionian living—less resort sprawl, more architectural restraint. The plan is built around a reflective lagoon called the Aqua Piazza, which acts as the resort’s still centre, framed by indoor and outdoor heated pools and gardens that spill toward the sea.
The building itself isn’t new—it dates back to 1986—but it’s been stripped back and reworked by Athens-based studio Cube Concept to better connect with the landscape. The original arcade façades remain, but the ground floor now opens fully to the shoreline. Inside, designers Ioanna Mitropoulou (Hotel IM) and Place in Space Architects layer terracotta, stone, and leafy greens with travertine screens and sculptural lighting, giving rooms and villas a sense of both calm and craft.
Rooms start at 35 square metres, many with private pools or jacuzzis, while the top-tier villa—a 280-square-metre, four-bedroom hideaway—comes with its own custom terrace and plenty of Ionian sky.

If you’re wondering whether the focus is just on lounging, the answer is: not quite. Conrad Corfu leans heavily into cultural programming, from guided local walks and culinary workshops to outdoor cinema nights that make use of Corfu’s famously cinematic light. And the art programme, titled Anasynthesis and curated by Nikos Paleologos / Saint of Athens, draws in a sharp roster of contemporary Greek artists, among them Kostis Velonis, H.O.P.E., and Antonios Fikos.
Food is a headline act. Michelin-starred chef Alexandros Tsiotinis (of CTC in Athens) will helm the signature fine-dining restaurant, translating Greek tradition through modern technique. Elsewhere, an all-day Corfiot-inspired restaurant, a beachfront venue, and two bars (one cocktail-focused, one lounge) make up the dining landscape. Expect local produce, Mediterranean wines, and that ever-present sense of sea and sun.
The spa takes its cues from classical bathhouses—travertine, zellige tile, softly draped linen—with modern touches like an infrared sauna, snow shower, and vitality pool. Treatments will feature Greek botanicals through ONAR and Swissline rituals. Outdoor wellness continues with yoga and TRX beneath olive trees. Families aren’t left out: a kids club designed with Worldwide Kids unfolds like a miniature treehouse village among the eucalyptus.

While Corfu Town’s UNESCO-listed Old Town sits an hour north, this stretch of coast tells a different story—slower, greener, more introspective. Nearby, the Achilleion Palace, all Belle Époque marble and mythological statuary, offers a reminder that the Ionian has long lured those in search of beauty and retreat.
For Hilton, it’s another move into Greece’s high-end coastal circuit. “Conrad Corfu promises an exceptional luxury experience for guests visiting this island, celebrated for its breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural heritage,” says Patrick Fitzgibbon, Hilton’s senior vice president for EMEA development. Numo’s Spyros Kouris frames it differently: as “an alliance of Greek creatives and partners” shaping a resort that’s as much about place as polish.
When Conrad Corfu opens in Q2 2026, it will join the brand’s 40-plus global addresses—but it seems poised to speak a fluent local dialect: one of measured design, Greek artistry, and Ionian calm.
