This summer, the Grimaldi Forum Monaco, in partnership with Tate, proudly presents “Turner, the Sublime Legacy.” This expansive exhibition features nearly 80 works by the renowned artist Joseph Mallord William Turner. Spanning over 2,000 square meters, the exhibition showcases Turner’s ground-breaking approach to landscape and light, revealing his profound influence on art’s sublime representation. The exhibition includes a remarkable collection of 38 oil paintings and 40 works on paper from the Tate, marking the largest loan of Turner’s oil paintings to date. These pieces highlight Turner’s evolution from capturing the English countryside to creating striking, modern landscapes with masterful colour and light. These pieces engage in a dynamic dialogue with Turner’s work, exploring landscape representation and human-environment interactions through various mediums including sculpture, installation, and video.
