Why Luxury Sunglasses Are a Must-Have Accessory for Travelling

Sunglasses are essential. However, many Australians consider them optional accessories in their everyday lives.

A research study commissioned by Specsavers reveals that 24% of Australians rarely or never wear sunglasses when going outside during the day. Specsavers optometrists Simon Kelly warns that Australians need to protect themselves and wear sunglasses because the sun can cause eye damage to the eyes, leading to diseases like cataracts and macular degeneration.

So, if you travel frequently, you should consider investing in luxury designer sunglasses that can offer multiple benefits. To illustrate, here’s how you can benefit from using luxury sunglasses during your trips:

Why Sunglasses Are Essential for Travelling

It’s a common assumption that sunglasses are fashion accessories. As such, people are usually drawn first to the style of sunglasses over the protective features that they can offer.

Unfortunately, ophthalmologist and eye surgeon Dr. Alina Zeldovich tells news.com.au that sunglasses solely made for fashion allow more UV light to penetrate the eyes due to their design. These “fashion” sunglasses shut off your eyes’ natural reflex, causing all the extra UV rays to get into your eyes.

Optometrist Dr. Joe Paul explains to news.com.au that it’s better to purchase frames from an optometrist or a reputable seller that offers a number of designer brands, rather than purchasing stylish knock-offs that don’t meet Australian standards. Frames from these designer brands usually offer polarised lenses and 100% UV protection to ensure that people can get can see clearly while their eyes are being shielded from the sun’s harsh rays.

With UV protection, polarized lenses, and a variety of trendy frames, you can enjoy clear vision and safeguard your eyes while making a bold statement. Whether you’re lounging on the beach, exploring the city, or hitting the trails, Carrera sunglasses at 1001 Optometry are designed to elevate your look and enhance your adventures

It’s not surprising that frequent travellers also invest in sunglasses from designer brands, thanks to the protection that they can offer. To illustrate, Ilaria Pellegrin, the commercial director at Hilton Lake Como in Italy, states that she never travels without her vintage sunglasses from Persol, an Italian luxury brand. Ilaria regularly goes on holidays, which is why she knows the importance of having a reliable pair of sunglasses on trips.

Luxury Sunglasses That Are Worth the Investment

You won’t have to choose between style and proper UV protection when you’ve invested in luxury sunglasses. After all, the designer brands behind these eyewear pieces rose to prominence because their sunglasses can offer protective features, while also being trailblazers when it comes to the latest eyewear trends.

One of these designer brands is Prada, which is a brand that’s known for their stylish and high-quality apparel and accessories for many decades now. Prada sunglasses are able to meet the same standard due to their understated eyewear styles and their use of the finest materials. The brand offers many styles that appeal to women, such as the PR 73ZS sunglasses with the classic aviator style or the PR 04WS that’s reminiscent of the style of Jackie O. Aside from being stylish, Prada also offers polarised lenses to reduce the glare from light reflection and protect your eyes from harmful UV rays.

Another designer brand that’s well-known in the eyewear industry is Gentle Monster. Gentle Monster’s luxury eyewear pieces became renowned in the industry due to their high-end experimentation of sunglasses styles. Though the brand was just established in 2011, they quickly rose to popularity because of their retro-futuristic designs, as seen in the Sound Net WC6 cat-eye design sunglasses or Helix 01 round shades. These stylish pieces have cellulose acetate frames and chrome, titanium, and other premium metals in its body to be able to provide both style and functionality.

Luxury sunglasses should always be in your bag, especially when you’re going on a trip. These sunglasses can complete your outfits during your holiday, while also effectively protecting your eyes from the harsh sun.

Three hours from Hanoi. Seven hectares on the edge Three hours from Hanoi. Seven hectares on the edge of Ha Long Bay. Two buildings designed like traditional fishing vessels. One rooftop dinner that pairs Kagoshima Wagyu with Nuits-Saint-Georges. The math checks out. What makes this property exceptional isn't the awards or the price points—it's the willingness to let simple things (poolside pizza, afternoon tea with a limestone backdrop, quiet mornings at the Club Lounge) carry as much weight as the five-course tasting menus. Sometimes luxury is knowing when not to try too hard. Read @janoahvankekem ´s full review of @intercontinental_halongbay for @luxnomade on the website.
