The Hilltop Cabin is a rustic yet luxurious property located at the highest point in the Kanimbla Valley in NSW, Australia. The property offers sweeping views of the surrounding valley and the majestic Blue Mountains and is perfect for those looking for a unique and secluded stay in the wilderness.
The Hilltop Cabin, MT Kanimbla
The history of the cabin started with a 100-year-old apple orchard on Shipley Plateau in Australia’s majestic Blue Mountains. Throughout the century, Logan Brae has always remained a small family business. The exceptional care and love of the place helped it survive World War II, the Great Depression, the fires of 1952 and 2019, snow and hail storms, and many hard farming lessons. Over the years, Logan Brae has become a favourite destination for locals and visitors to the Blue Mountains. They go to enjoy the fresh apples, apple juices, and apple pies while soaking up the history, ambiance, and stunning views.
Boutique Accommodation
Logan Brae is currently run by Sam Edwards and Asia Upward and their two young daughters, Grace and Isla. Their love for this land and its incredible history has given them the passion and energy to honour the orchard’s legacy while continuing to transform it into something special. It’s not unusual for our customers to share stories of their visits to the orchard up to 70 years ago and are now bringing the next generation of their families along.
After the reinvention of their old machinery shed into a luxury farm-stay accommodation became a roaring success, the couple decided to expand the boutique accommodation arm of the business. So when they discovered the incomparable acreage at Mt Kanimbla, they knew it would be the perfect addition to the growing Logan Brae legacy, where they now have several other accommodation offerings. The Machinery Shed continues to be retained in the top 3 most wish-listed Airbnb, It’s no surprise with the outdoor bath situation, and it’s set on the picturesque apple orchard and has its secret lookout. The shed was built way back in 1919 and faces the impressive cliffs and looks over the Kanimbla Valley.
One of the ‘top 3 most wish listed’ properties in Australia
Logan Brae Retreats’ boutique cabins offer a unique escape in one of the world’s most dramatic and secluded settings – a landscape of escarpments, valleys, rainforests, and waterfalls.
Logan Brae retreats are spread across two stunning properties. Logan Brae Orchard and the new property at Mt Kanimbla. Bathe under the starlight in a treetop bath. Gaze at spectacular views from your private lookout. Sample the wine from a local vineyard. Or choose your own adventure.
In today’s world of connectivity, it’s hard to find an escape from one another. So, the owner of Asia Upward is about creating that escape. Their retreats are a private, experiential sanctuary, far from a fast-paced world. They ensure each cabin has its stunning surroundings and a savour view.
The combination of luxury with all the traditional elements of a cabin has made them one of the most sought-after accommodation styles. There’s a reason why the Machinery Shed (book here) is one of the ‘top 3 most wish listed’ properties in Australia.
The Mt Kanimbla Property has three solar-heated mineral plunge pools. Each Cabin and the Lodge all have one for guests to enjoy privately. This new property of stunning luxury wilderness Cabins opened on the 15th of September 2021.
