Lombardi View at Twilight

Hollywood movie stars have already discovered Lombardi’s award-winning cuisine, world-class Pinot Noirs and movie-worthy backdrop, now it’s your turn…

Famed for its award-winning cuisine, Lombardi Dining Room, located within the beautiful five-star Hotel St Moritz, is one of the best fine-dining restaurants in Queenstown, New Zealand. This is where guests can sink into the comfy dining chairs, sip on a glass of the world-famous local Pinot Noir and enjoy the fresh local cuisine whilst gazing across Lake Wakatipu to the iconic Remarkables. Whether staying at the luxury hotel or visiting Queenstown, a visit to Lombardi is simply a must.

Movie-Worthy Backdrop With a First-Row Seat

As premium locations go, it doesn’t get better than this. Located right on the lakefront, Lombardi Restaurant & Bar offer completely unspoiled and truly overwhelming views of Lake Wakatipu and The Remarkables Mountain Range with Cecil Peak as well as Queenstown township and gardens. The breathtaking and unrivalled view is akin to The Lord of The Rings and creates a movie-like scenery from the dining room. Hotel St Moritz has, in fact, been home to many Hollywood movie stars, cast and crew whilst filming in Queenstown including the most recent movie, Mission Impossible – Fallout. It’s no wonder this cinematic corner of the world has served as the backdrop for several Hollywood movies and at Lombardi’s you get a first-row seat.

Stunning views from the dining room

Design & Atmosphere

Inside the restaurant, the handsomely styled interiors across the cheerful bar to the brassiere-style dining room and stylish private dining area are matching the movie-worthy backdrop. Warm and earthy colours have been used creating a cosy yet elegant feel. The lively open kitchen and the wood-fired pizza oven, add warmth to the inclusive atmosphere. From signature dishes paired with an impressive wine list to tapas and cocktails at the bar and near fine-dining experience in its private room The Library, there is something for everyone and every mood. Whichever dining style guests prefer, they can expect a completely blissful experience evoking all the senses.

The Menu

Developed by the restaurant’s passionate master chefs the menu at Lombardi invites you to try the best of New Zealand produce. With a number of accolades under its belt, including Best Restaurant in Queenstown, Chef of the Year – Monteiths’ Wild Food Challenge and most recently, Best Lamb Dish in Central Otago at the New Zealand Beef and Lamb Awards, the dishes at Lombardi’s are first-class.

Make sure to try the trademark, wild alpine venison which draws inspiration from surrounding Central Otago served with agria potato foam, roasted parsnips and cashew gremolata. Other excellent dishes are the wood-fire roasted eggplant caponata, Canterbury duck breast and wild rabbit ragout. In addition to the impressive menu, Lombardi presents a carefully crafted wine list focusing on the famous Pinot Noir variety renowned in the Central Otago region.

Lombardi Bar

Lombardi Bar

Don’t miss the Lombardi Bar which sits immediately adjacent the hotel lobby. The comfortable bar stools make the perfect spot to contemplate this remarkable destination whilst sipping on a classic pre-dinner cocktail such as the signature cocktail ‘Honey Nut Martini’. Fair-trade coffee is also available on the menu and regardless of the beverage of choice, the extensive views over Queenstown’s peaks will not fail to impress. For peckish guests, the tapas menu will come in handy with the small delicious dishes being perfectly paired with the wide local varietal of Pinot Noirs.

One rooftop dinner that pairs Kagoshima Wagyu with Nuits-Saint-Georges. The math checks out. Sometimes luxury is knowing when not to try too hard. Read @janoahvankekem ´s full review of @intercontinental_halongbay for @luxnomade on the website.
