The Interior Design & Style
Checking into Hotel Soloha is a total Wow-factor. Lots of work has gone into transforming the place into an urban jungle, which with help from local artists, is exactly the sensation you when entering the hotel lobby. The 3-meter mural painted by local artist Ethrishia Liaw adds to the ‘tropical sensuality’ – theme and that’s not the only artwork on display. There’s also an impressive 13m high art piece in the lift shaft, named ‘Spirit of the Forest’, painted by local artist Danielle Tay. The colourful and playful design continues throughout the hotel with each floor being represented by a specific animal. In addition to the tropical theme, there’s a cool retro vibe going on with ’80s deluxe’ furniture and decor.
The Rooms & Suites
The hotel features 45 guest rooms ranging across five room categories– the standard, superior, deluxe, loft and suite – with deluxe rooms starting from $250++ per night. The Suites are located on the second floor and benefits from a lovely outdoor communal area with sofas surrounded by green lush plants and cooling fans making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy an afternoon coffee. The rooms aren’t big however space has cleverly been used including the space underneath the beds which can accommodate three regular-sized luggage. The beds are comfortable and have a soft topper for extra comfort. The bathrooms are equipped with Hansgrohe Raindance showers, figured glass panels and deluxe in-house toiletries, including lemongrass shampoo and lavender body wash. The Smart Room Control Unit is easy to figure out and controls the air-con and light settings, there are even buttons for ‘party’ to ‘romantic’ moods. There’s a large 55-inch TV, an electronic safe (which opens from the top making it super easy to store your laptop) and a small fridge.
Guests staying in the top loft can enjoy a spectacular rooftop view of the Keong Saik’s neighbourhood which almost feels a bit like being in Paris.
The Breakfast
The daily breakfast is served in the Takeshi Noodle Bar which is the hotel’s Wes Anderson-inspired restaurant decked out with comfy indigo and blush pink velvet and rattan sofas, terrazzo tables and fresh flowers. The buffet includes toast, pastries, fruits and cereals.
