Nobu Hotel Madrid: First Look at Madrid’s Newest Luxury Hotel

As Madrid continues its remarkable ascent as one of Europe’s most exciting luxury destinations, the arrival of Nobu Hotel Madrid feels perfectly timed. Opening its doors on 1 September 2026, the highly anticipated property marks Nobu Hospitality’s debut in the Spanish capital, introducing the brand’s unmistakable blend of world-renowned dining, understated luxury and contemporary design to one of the continent’s most dynamic cities.

Long celebrated for redefining hospitality through its seamless marriage of exceptional cuisine and elevated living, Nobu’s latest address arrives as Madrid enjoys unprecedented international attention. From the arrival of Formula 1 to an ever-evolving culinary landscape and flourishing creative scene, Spain’s capital has become a city that effortlessly balances heritage with modern sophistication. Nobu Hotel Madrid intends to place itself firmly at the heart of that evolution, offering travellers a fresh perspective on a city that continues to reinvent itself without losing its soul.

Inside Nobu Hotel Madrid’s Design

Located on Calle Alcalá, between the grandeur of Plaza de Cibeles and the energy of Puerta del Sol, the boutique hotel occupies one of the city’s most enviable addresses. Its home in Las Cortes places guests within walking distance of Madrid’s celebrated museums, historic boulevards, independent galleries and some of Spain’s finest restaurants, offering an authentic connection to a capital where culture is woven into everyday life.

The opening also represents an important milestone for Nobu Hospitality in Spain. Madrid joins the brand’s celebrated portfolio alongside Marbella, Ibiza, Barcelona and Nobu Hotel San Sebastián, a destination we described as one of Spain’s most desirable coastal escapes. Together, these properties showcase how Nobu adapts its signature philosophy to each destination while maintaining its unmistakable identity.

The Nobu Suite at Nobu Hotel Madrid with private terrace overlooking Madrid

At the centre of the experience is, unsurprisingly, the restaurant

For many guests, Nobu has always been as much about the dining as the destination itself, and Madrid will become home to the city’s first-ever Nobu Restaurant. Spanning three levels, the restaurant, bar and lounge have been conceived as a destination in their own right rather than simply a hotel dining room. Designed by internationally renowned architecture studio GRONDA, the interiors embrace warm natural materials, soft lighting and understated Japanese influences, creating spaces that feel intimate yet effortlessly sophisticated. Above it all, a rooftop terrace overlooking Madrid promises to become one of the capital’s most coveted settings for sunset cocktails and late-night gatherings.

The same restrained elegance continues throughout the hotel itself. Designed by Studio Caramba, the collection of just 50 guestrooms and suites has been envisioned as a calming retreat from the rhythm of the city. Warm timber finishes, layered organic textiles, deep green accents and floor-to-ceiling windows create interiors that feel more like beautifully appointed private residences than traditional hotel rooms. At the pinnacle sits the 105-square-metre Nobu Suite, complete with generous living spaces and a private terrace overlooking Madrid’s skyline.

Madrid’s First Nobu Restaurant Arrives

Luxury today extends beyond beautiful interiors, and Nobu Hotel Madrid has embraced wellness as an integral part of the guest experience. A dedicated wellness area, state-of-the-art Technogym fitness centre, exclusive Nobu in-room dining, BYREDO amenities and the brand’s signature beds ensure every detail has been thoughtfully considered for modern travellers seeking both energy and restoration.

Exploring Madrid Beyond the Hotel

While Nobu Hotel Madrid is destined to become a destination in its own right, it also arrives during one of the most exciting periods in Madrid’s hospitality evolution. The city has welcomed an extraordinary collection of luxury hotels over the past few years, each bringing its own distinctive personality. Art lovers will appreciate the creative spirit of Casa de las Artes, while those drawn to timeless elegance will find much to admire at Gran Hotel Inglés, one of the city’s most storied addresses. For travellers seeking contemporary glamour, BLESS Hotel Madrid continues to redefine sophisticated urban luxury in the Salamanca district.

Madrid’s appeal, however, extends well beyond its hotels. As the sun sets, the city reveals one of Europe’s most exciting nightlife scenes. Cocktail enthusiasts should make time for Punch Room at The Madrid EDITION, an intimate hideaway that has quietly become one of the capital’s most stylish bars. Those interested in discovering Madrid through a more sensory lens should also explore The Scentuary, a unique experience reflecting the city’s growing appreciation for craftsmanship, fragrance and contemporary culture.

For seasoned Nobu devotees, Madrid represents another compelling chapter in the brand’s global story. Guests who have experienced the dramatic clifftop setting of Nobu Hotel Santorini will recognise the seamless balance between destination and design, while those familiar with Nobu Hotel New Orleans will appreciate the way each property interprets local culture without compromising the Nobu experience. Madrid follows the same philosophy, drawing inspiration from the city’s artistic heritage, cosmopolitan energy and celebrated culinary scene.

The timing of the opening could hardly be more significant. Madrid has evolved into one of Europe’s most desirable luxury city breaks, attracting international travellers with its world-class museums, Michelin-starred restaurants, elegant shopping districts and increasingly impressive collection of design-led hotels. Nobu Hotel Madrid arrives not simply to participate in that renaissance, but to help define its next chapter.

Reservations are now open for stays beginning 1 September 2026, with guests booking before 30 September receiving a €100 dining and beverage credit for stays through the end of the year. Yet beyond the introductory offer, Nobu Hotel Madrid represents something much larger. It signals the continued evolution of Madrid as a world-class luxury destination—one where exceptional hospitality, outstanding gastronomy, contemporary culture and timeless style come together with remarkable ease.

For travellers planning an autumn escape to Spain’s capital, Nobu Hotel Madrid is shaping up to be not only one of the city’s most coveted new addresses, but one of Europe’s defining luxury hotel openings of 2026.

Sometimes luxury shows up quietly, without fanfare Sometimes luxury shows up quietly, without fanfare or a grand lobby to announce its presence. That is exactly how Finca Victoria arrived in Sa Riera—a restored estate where the pine-covered hills and Mediterranean set the tone before you even step inside.

Opened in 2025 after careful renovation of a historic property, it captures something rare on the Costa Brava: the feeling of having discovered a corner that hasn't yet lost its soul. Just thirty-eight rooms, all adults over fourteen, spread across what feels more like a private summer house than a resort determined to impress from the first moment. The central cloister anchors everything, with warm stone arches, ceramics, and Catalan tuff flooring that gives you a sense of place without leaning too hard on nostalgia.

The food alone tells you this was done with intention. AlKostat del Mar, led by chef Jordi Vilà, serves seasonal Catalan cooking rooted in local produce and fire. A rice dish can become the reason you're traveling somewhere new. Breakfast stretches from eight until eleven with made-to-order hot options alongside a carefully edited buffet—eggs Benedict with salmon, avocado toast, regional specialties like black butifarra with beans—that makes rushing feel unnecessary.

But what lingers is the room itself. In our Terrace Suite, nearly sixty square metres overlooked both sea and the rolling hills of Begur. The bathroom held both bathtub and rainfall shower. An outdoor shower faced sideways toward the horizon. These details don't shout; they settle into your memory slowly.

Spa appointments run through the Victoria Wellness Spa with water circuits, saunas, jacuzzis, and sensory treatments—all requiring advance booking, which somehow makes the peace even sweeter when you arrive. Morning yoga happens inside one of the suites, sunlight filling the space as you ground yourself into the day rather than race through it.

There is a complimentary shuttle to Begur village until late evening, and the beach is literally a short walk away. Private boat trips can be arranged for up to six people. Paddleboards, loungers, anything on the water the hotel can help coordinate through external partners. Yet even with
