Don Carlos Marbella: A Mediterranean Hideaway with Tennis, Luxury, and Relaxation

Don Carlos Marbella is one of those places you just know is going to deliver. Recently renovated, it oozes modern elegance with a Mediterranean touch, creating a seamless mix of style, relaxation, and luxury. Directly on the beach, the hotel sits just above Nikki Beach, with the sparkling sea only a stone’s throw away. The location strikes the perfect balance between tranquillity and proximity—only 15 minutes from both Marbella center and Puerto Banús, making it an ideal spot to kick back, unwind, and enjoy the best of the coast. And with Málaga International Airport (AGP) just 35 minutes away and Málaga – María Zambrano Train Station only 45 minutes by car, it’s a breeze to get here. Whether you’re in search of a peaceful getaway or a base to explore Marbella’s lively hotspots, Don Carlos Hotel delivers both.

Rooms at Don Carlos Marbella

Designed by Jaime Beriestain, the hotel is a masterclass in contemporary design—light, bright, and airy, with an elegant twist. The rooms are spacious, with sliding doors opening onto balconies (depending on the room type) that offer views of the Mediterranean sea, which is always a plus. Inside, everything feels just right: soft, luxurious robes, and slippers with a chic red trim, and generous Nature Bissé amenities in the bathroom. Oh, and did I mention the Solan de Cabras water? It’s a detail that doesn’t go unnoticed, and the unlimited supply of those stunning blue bottles makes sure you stay hydrated in style.

If you’re travelling with children, the Don Carlos really shines. From the moment you arrive, the hotel goes out of its way to make families feel welcome. A cot with a wool blanket, a toddler-sized bathrobe, and a thoughtful welcome bag with nappies and even a scarf for the little one—it’s these small touches that elevate the experience. It’s family-friendly, but also designed with enough luxury to make adults feel thoroughly pampered.

Dining and the Campari Bar Manero

When it comes to food, Los Naranjos restaurant does not disappoint. From a lavish breakfast buffet to a delicious dinner menu, the quality is exceptional. The food is fresh, vibrant, and perfectly in tune with the Mediterranean surroundings—think tuna tartar, entrecôte, and other dishes that are so simple, yet so delicious. But it’s not just about the food. What really stands out is the service—professional, warm, and genuinely thoughtful. From the moment you walk in, you’ll feel like a guest, not just a customer.

Then there’s Campari Bar Manero. A homage to the Mediterranean art of the aperitivo, it blends Italian elegance with a Southern Spanish soul. The cocktail menu takes classic drinks like Negronis and Spritzes and adds a bit of local flair, creating something that’s fresh, lively, and distinctly Marbella. And it’s not just for adults—kids are treated to their own little mocktail, two juices mixed and served in short glasses, while you sip your drink and snack on the plentiful bowls of nibbles that keep everyone happy. It’s an unexpected delight and the perfect way to begin an evening at the hotel.

Tennis and Relaxation: The Rafa Nadal Academy and Break Point

For those of you who love a little sport while on holiday, the Rafa Nadal Academy is one of the hotel’s standout features. The state-of-the-art tennis facilities offer everything you need to improve your game, whether you’re a seasoned pro or a beginner. However, after the match, Break Point is the perfect place to unwind. Located just beside the academy, Break Point is where tennis truly turns into conversation. It’s where victories are toasted, stories are swapped, and the energy is just infectious. It’s the kind of place where you can take a breath, relax, and reconnect after a few intense sets, or simply enjoy the ambiance.

Whether you’ve just had a smashing game or are simply there to enjoy the ambiance, Break Point captures the spirit of sport beautifully: it’s not about competition—it’s about camaraderie, fun, and celebration.

Spa and Wellness

Now, if you’re feeling like you need some serious unwinding, the hotel’s 1,600 sqmspa will have you covered. Situated below ground, the spa is serene and calming, offering a full range of treatments. One particular highlight is the 50-minute full-body massage, which isn’t just relaxing, it’s also incredibly effective. After your treatment, you’ll be invited to sip herbal teas in the spa’s peaceful lounge, where the calming atmosphere ensures you leave feeling fully restored.

Lush greenery, colourful flowers, and winding paths create an idyllic atmosphere, making it the perfect spot for a quiet stroll. There’s even a small waterfall that adds to the tranquil vibe, and as you wander through, you’ll find yourself walking towards the Rafa Nadal Tennis Academy, where the sound of tennis balls bouncing adds a lively touch to the peaceful surroundings.

Sometimes luxury shows up quietly, without fanfare Sometimes luxury shows up quietly, without fanfare or a grand lobby to announce its presence. That is exactly how Finca Victoria arrived in Sa Riera—a restored estate where the pine-covered hills and Mediterranean set the tone before you even step inside.

Opened in 2025 after careful renovation of a historic property, it captures something rare on the Costa Brava: the feeling of having discovered a corner that hasn't yet lost its soul. Just thirty-eight rooms, all adults over fourteen, spread across what feels more like a private summer house than a resort determined to impress from the first moment. The central cloister anchors everything, with warm stone arches, ceramics, and Catalan tuff flooring that gives you a sense of place without leaning too hard on nostalgia.

The food alone tells you this was done with intention. AlKostat del Mar, led by chef Jordi Vilà, serves seasonal Catalan cooking rooted in local produce and fire. A rice dish can become the reason you're traveling somewhere new. Breakfast stretches from eight until eleven with made-to-order hot options alongside a carefully edited buffet—eggs Benedict with salmon, avocado toast, regional specialties like black butifarra with beans—that makes rushing feel unnecessary.

But what lingers is the room itself. In our Terrace Suite, nearly sixty square metres overlooked both sea and the rolling hills of Begur. The bathroom held both bathtub and rainfall shower. An outdoor shower faced sideways toward the horizon. These details don't shout; they settle into your memory slowly.

Spa appointments run through the Victoria Wellness Spa with water circuits, saunas, jacuzzis, and sensory treatments—all requiring advance booking, which somehow makes the peace even sweeter when you arrive. Morning yoga happens inside one of the suites, sunlight filling the space as you ground yourself into the day rather than race through it.

There is a complimentary shuttle to Begur village until late evening, and the beach is literally a short walk away. Private boat trips can be arranged for up to six people. Paddleboards, loungers, anything on the water the hotel can help coordinate through external partners. Yet even with
