Here amongst iconic windmills, white sugar-cube houses, and eyelines of endless blue, the famous Greek island offers up amazing luxury hotels, award-winning restaurants, bars, and beautiful beaches. It’s not difficult to see why Mykonos is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Greek Islands.

Lux Nomade spent a week on the island and indulged in delicious food, epic sunsets, and jaw-dropping beaches. It’s the ultimate destination for a whole lot of fun in the sun! Our Ultimate Mykonos Travel Guide is filled with the best hotels, restaurants and things not to miss whilst on this fun-filled Cycladic island.

The Ultimate Mykonos Travel Guide

The Ultimate Guide to Things to do in Mykonos

Stroll through narrow and picturesque streets of Mykonos Old Town. Start walking from Mykonos Town and discover main sites such as the impressive whitewashed Paraportiani Church, cute boutiques and cafes try a gyro or two at Jimmy’s or Souvlaki Story. Whilst in Mykonos Town make sure to visit the traditional windmills of Kato Mili. Located on the western side of Mykonos Town, you’ll find five majestic and iconic windmills overlooking the sea. Built in the 16th century, the windmills were once used for the island’s history of grain milling. Nowadays, it’s a reminder of Mykonos’ past plus picture-perfect spot.

In the evening, kick back and enjoy a sunset cocktail in Little Venice. It might be a bit overcrowded during July and August, but it is definitely worth it. Sunset Catamaran Cruises are also an ideal alternative for unforgettable sunsets over the sea. Venture on an excursion to the neighbouring islands of Delos and Rinia. Since Mykonos is surrounded by water, make sure you visit and swim at as many beaches on the island as you can.

Rent a car or Vespa and explore the island at your leisure. Perhaps even pack a delicious picnic with local produce and enjoy at the beach or at any scenic place along the way. Make sure to visit Armenistis Lighthouse, one of the secret places of the island featuring dreamy views. For the true bon vivants wanting to get a true taste of the Cycladic gastronomy, Mykonos offers several local wineries and creameries producing famous “kapanisti” cheese.

Visit the Municipal Art Gallery of Mykonos. The former house of the Mykonian painter Maria Igglesi, to whom one of this year’s exhibitions is dedicated to, curated by Irini Savvani, Art Historian, operates as a gallery, hosting periodical paintings, photographs and sculptures by Grek and international artists. This year’s program lasts from June to October.

When it’s cocktail o’clock head over to Caprice Bar, a cosmopolitan and uniqe bar with impressively decorated cocktails. Aroma bar is worth a visit which is situated in the centre of Mykos town and is continuing its successful course since 1996 serving mouth-watering cocktails. Try the famous ‘Katerinaki cocaktail’ at Galleraki Cocktail Bar or have a wine at I Frati Apertivio & Wine Bar which is a comfortable bar for apertivios in the afternoon or a relaxed drink in the evening.

Rome is loud. @editionrome is the quiet answer. W Rome is loud. @editionrome is the quiet answer.

While others compete for ornate grandeur, Ian Schrager and Statuto Group built a sophisticated apartment for discerning travelers just off Via Veneto. This 93-room gem swaps heavy drapes for floor-to-ceiling windows, warm walnut, and scents that smell like refinement rather than "hotel."

It is not a museum you sleep in; it is a sanctuary where the Roman chaos stops at the threshold. From Chef Antonio Gentile's tasting menu at Anima to the light shifting over your penthouse before Trastevere, the vibe is simple: refined stillness in the heart of the fray.

Here is the question: Would you book a room screaming with views of the Trevi Fountain, or a suite on Via Veneto where the only drama happens on the dinner plate? Let us know.

Five historic villas, one impossible-to-beat locat Five historic villas, one impossible-to-beat location. Casa METT is redefining what a boutique escape looks like in Sitges by merging 19th-century architecture with a California-cool aesthetic.

With only 38 rooms spread across these restored homes, intimacy isn't just a promise—it's the design.
