The family-friendly five star Sugar Beach Resort & Spa, fringing the West Coast of Flic en Flac, Mauritius has re-opened after the completion of the resort’s £10M (12M Euros) renovation. This includes 69 newly refurbished rooms and Citronella’s restaurant, as well as a new entrance lobby and new Buddha Bar set right on the beach, serving Asian and Mediterranean dishes.
Combining history and contemporary luxury, Sugar Beach Resort & Spa is centred around a plantation-style ‘Manor House’, surrounded by luxurious Creole-styled ‘Villa Houses’, all set along 1.5 kilometres of powdery white sand nestled within 30 acres of lush greenery. Sugar Beach offers 238 sea-facing or garden-facing rooms, 13 restaurants and bars, two of the biggest ‘Kids Clubs’ on the island, and an extensive spa, three pools and free access to three championship golf courses making it an ideal luxury choice for both honeymooners and families alike.

Sun Kids Club at the resort is free for all children aged between 2 to 11 and provides world-class attractions including ultra-cool and imaginative daily fun programmes, facilities and amenities. There are also special events organised every evening at dinnertime for the children.
Free Activities & Facilities
There are two swimming pools available plus another at nearby La Pirogue (where guests can make full use of the facilities also), which includes a 2000m2 main pool with a relaxing bubble pool. A range of free activities is available, including glass-bottom boat trips, snorkelling, windsurfing, five floodlit tennis courts, and one multifunction court.
A wide variety of water sports are on offer at an additional fee, including scuba diving, water-skiing, big-game fishing and full-day catamaran cruises.
Spa & Wellness
The resort’s spa offers personalised, holistic treatments with an authentic Mauritian touch, as well as embracing Ayurvedic, African as well as detox wellness methods.
Spa facilities include a hammam, both single and couples’ treatment rooms, a dedicated shiatsu treatment area, a fully-equipped hairdressing salon, 300m2 of an air-conditioned fitness centre.
There is also a martial arts area that caters for fans of kickboxing, judo and karate.
