The History of The Hughenden Hotel
The Hughenden Boutique Hotel is nestled in leafy exclusive Woollahra, on the famous picturesque Queen Street. Housed in a gracious Victorian residence designed by Frederick Quaife in 1878 the building was initially a private residence among other things before undergoing a stylish, exciting refurbishment turning it into the hotel it is today. Whilst the hotel was being restored careful planning went in to ensure the building would keep its old-world grandeur and charm.
The Rooms
The rooms which are all unique ranges over eight categories from The Budget Cosy to The Manor. The Delux room is spacious and features a comfortable king-sized bed with high-quality linen and a sofa and desk. The walls are painted in bright yellow and there is a beautiful fireplace in the middle of the room. The bathroom is bright and modern with a Victorian bathtub and The Hughenden Hotel’s own amenities. There’s a mini-bar with items for an additional charge as well as a TV and air conditioner.
The Breakfast
The continental breakfast is served daily in the conservatory and consists of coffee and tea, toast, a selection of spreads, pastries, yoghurt and fruits. There’s is also a spacious terrace on the first floor offering a beautiful view where guests can sit and enjoy a drink or simply just relax. The bar downstairs next to the exquisite sitting room hosts various entertainment including jazz evenings. The sitting room itself is beautiful and is the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of tea.
