Q Dining: Harbourside dining with a native-inspired menu at Pullman Quay Grand Sydney Harbour.
Looking for an excellent dining experience in one of the world’s most famous locations? Look no further. Q Dining located within Pullman Quay Grand Sydney Harbour does not only offer a breathtaking view, the innovative dishes and an impressive wine list ticks all the boxes.
The Interior Design & Ambience
Q Dining underwent a major refurbishment earlier this year, including the rebranding of Hyde Hacienda. The new restaurant area is spacious, airy and bright with high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling glass windows not only framing a world-class view overlooking Circular Quay and Sydney Harbour Bridge but also lets a tonne of natural light in.
The interior design is sleek and modern and a light colour palette has been used throughout the dining area. If you are lucky to get a window table, the view is one of the best in the city. With white linen napkins, plush chairs and a beautiful bar area, the restaurant focuses on modernity and timeless luxury which creates a sophisticated atmosphere. Guests enjoying the dinner service will be able to soak in the iconic views of the Harbour Bridge witnessing the bridge as it lights up. By the time the dessert arrives the city’s beautiful skyline is a masterpiece.
New Native-Inspired Menu
Q Dining has recently developped a new native-inspired menu to match the restaurant’s new look, focusing on sustainable, ethical and seasonal ingredients. The restaurant is also working closely with aboriginal communities and ecological suppliers.
Among the small plates, the Wallaby, heriloom carrot escabeche, creme fraiche and herbs is excellent and so is the poached Queensland spanner crab and the seared tuna served with a cucumber salad which is paired with a Sauvigon Blanc from Martinborough, New Zealand.
From the large plates, the beef fillet and braised ox tail served with seasonal muchstroom and spinach is wonderfully served together with the creamy mash potato or the shoestring chips. For those looking for a lighter side-dish, the green beans tossed in almond butter are fantastic. The dish is paired with a smooth Merlot from Burgundy, France.
The carmalized chcolate-coffee cream tart is served with chocolat ice cream and is suberb!
