Citadines on Bourke Melbourne’s luxury serviced apartments offers a stylish ‘home away from home’ located right in the heart of the city.
Sitting back all nice and cosy in my new leopard print cardigan as we descend, I cast my eyes out the window of the plane, down to the enchanting grey city. Melbourne’s dark clouds welcomed me back with beautiful nostalgia and memories of warm little bars, exquisite eateries and inspiring arts. To say I was excited about being kid-free en route to an apartment in the thick of it all would be an understatement.
Arriving at Citadines on Bourke Melbourne
The Citadines on Bourke Melbourne lobby is tucked discreetly back off the street, it’s partner restaurant, the funky Kuuraku sits out the front in all its trendy glory.
The recently renovated lobby is a refreshing mix of fresh modern colours and classy dark brass tones. A sprawling guest day lounge area complete with computers, vending machines and tables for business travellers sits behind reception. With the greatest of ease, I head on up to the 20th floor where my studio apartment awaited me.
Dropping my bags instantly in awe to try and snap a perfect shot, Melbourne had turned on some sun and the floor to ceiling glass wall overlooking the rooftops is sparkling. The view really could be a delicate classic Melbourne painting. The grey buildings are littered with dots of green and pink gardens and the trendy yellow themed Melbourne’s infamous landmarks.
Studio Deluxe
The rooms stylish finishings seem to mirror the real-life view and add to the cultural experience that is Melbourne…Tasteful dark carpets, elegant modern prints and bright yellow cushions invite me to slip my boots off and pour a nice glass of red before my friend arrives.
What I like most about this room is the fantastic use of space which is 34 sqm to be precise. The room, which is suitable for two people with a comfortable queen-size bed, is fully equipped with a self-catering kitchen although it is all delicately tucked away in discreet cupboards and I feel like I’m in a hotel. The Studio even has a living/dining area where meals can be enjoyed. The dark tiled bathroom feels inviting and the beautiful eco-friendly aromatherapy soaps freshen me up in no time. The studio is also equipped with an LDC TV with a home entertainment system, air-conditioning and complimentary housekeeping.
Location
Located on Bourke Street in the heart of the city, the location is perfect to experience all Melbourne has to offer. Ready to hit the town is no surprise that I discover the property is within a few hundred metres walk of all our plans… a show at her majesties theatre, exquisite cocktails on Siglo’s rooftop and stunning tapas at Bomba.
Breakfast at on-site restaurant Kuuraku
A refreshing sleep in a peacefully quiet space in a very comfortable bed and I’m ready to do it all again. But first…… coffee!! We wander down to Kuuraku for breakfast and treat ourselves to a tasty egg brioche, the trendy little setting was just perfect!
Back to the room where we contemplate preparing a healthy salad, the kitchen corner has everything we need and comes complete with a dishwasher and cooktop. Mental note to remember this place when I am back with my babies, it’s a rare find “self-catering” with a full kitchen suite.
Summary
The Citadines on Bourke Melbourne really does sit in the best position I’ve ever found in Melbourne, it’s very hard to prepare this salad given our location. With rock paper scissors, chin chin, Bistrot d’Orsay and China towns eateries at our fingertips, our self-discipline is commendable. The property also features a fully-equipped gym, indoor pool, sauna and outdoor sundeck as well as complimentary wireless internet.
